With Another Botched Iraqi State Execution, Perhaps More Than Saddam's Half Brother Should Lose His Head

I posted earlier that two of Saddam Hussein's co-defendents were executed in Iraq today. However, what was not revealed until a few hours ago was the fact that - after knowing the incredible outrage even the Iraqi people who hated, hated, hated Saddam felt at the way the U.S. and Iraqi "puppet" government handled Saddam's hanging - Saddam's half-brother was decapitated during the execution. [Ed. note: Again, we're told no video of the executions actually exists but we heard this with Saddam and videos have sprung up all over the place.]

Once again, of course - just as they did with Saddam's hanging - the Bush Administration insists it had nothing to do with any of this and cannot be blamed.

I supposed some Kool-Aid consumers might believe this if it was not already a matter of public record that the Bushies:

  • told Iraq whom to prosecute
  • what charges to level against these defendants
  • told them when to render the verdicts (as you may recall, the days just before the U.S. mid-term elections in November 2006) as well as when to announce the verdict
  • ordered the sentencing (execution; capitol punishment)
  • maintained custody of the prisoners right to the very moment of execution (and then, the changing of guards was literally just a stage to make it seem the Bushies and soldiers were not part of the less-than-class act
  • had plans to take credit and crow about their participation until the Saddam hanging turned very, very ugly and only then backed away to try to make it seem they had no knowledge, no say
How is it possible for the Bushies to get everything wrong each and every damned time out of the gate? Statistics alone would suggest they would occasionally have to perform correctly. Yet they don't.

All I can say is that with the Bushies, were they tried and found guilty of treason, decapitation would NOT work. They don't use their heads at all now, so there is no evidence that severing the head from the neck would even affect their decision making capability (or lack thereof).
