More on The Carnage a Trois Between Israel, Hezbollah, and Lebanon

With a cessation of violence supposed to take effect in less than 24 hours, there is no shortage of deadly attacks today. While the news media today has focused on the rockets fired at Haifa, Israel's third largest city, the death toll is - as usual - much higher in Lebanon (and not just Southern Lebanon either).

The Israeli cabinet agreed to the U.N. resolution for the cease fire in a vote this morning. Meanwhile, Christian Lebanese are fleeing in record numbers and there is some debate whether this conflict will make big shifts in the political dance card in the Middle East.

Again, I strongly recommend reading Seymour Hersh's latest, "Annals of National Security: Watching Lebanon" out in The New Yorker and available online. Definite must read.
