How High Will Gas Prices Go Before July Is Out?

Reader CarlG in email says he's pretty sure that the $3.05 a gallon he paid yesterday just south of Mamaroneck, NY will hit $3.35-$3.50 before month's end.

Sandra Dorn, also in email, reports prices jumped 22 cents in metro DC in the last five days and wouldn't be surprised if she pays $3.69 by 7/31. A sales person who drives about 900 miles on average each week, she said her boss was told that $4/gallon may be the rule rather than the exception in August.
