Israel Drops 23 TONS of Explosives on Beirut Bunker

Just as I was listening to a pre-recorded interview with Shimon Peres, the Israel Vice Prime Minister and a man I have always respected, tell listeners that despite claims Israel's actions were "out of proportion" with the situation, Israel did not want to do anything it could help to cause undue casualties, came the breaking news that Israel had just dropped 23 TONS of explosives on a supposed bunker in Beirut.

Twenty-three TONS. TONS. Forty-six THOUSAND pounds. Into a crowded area.

What's next? Will they nuke some mosques tomorrow? Wait. I don't want to give Olmert (and Bush) any ideas.

But no, this isn't over the top.
