Pork Packed into Iraq and Afghanistan Aid

Skippy brings us this, first presented by a reader from South Knox Bubba, highlighting some of the pet pork projects stuffed into "emergency funding" for Iraq and Afghanistan. Yes, looking at this list, I can certainly see why gas in PA might factor in (NOT) - and this is just PART of the pork; see the links given for more:

  • $500,000 for the oral history of the negotiated settlement project at unr.
  • $4,000,000 for the fire sciences academy in elko, nevada capital debt service.
  • $2,000,000 to upgrade chemistry laboratories at drew university, new jersey.
  • $1,000,000 for the borough of versailles, pennsylvania to remediate leaks from abandoned natural gas wells.
  • $3,000,000 for the university of texas southwestern medical center, university of texas at dallas metroplex comprehensive imaging center.
  • for payment to doris k. matsui, widow of robert t. matsui, late a representative from the state of california, $162,100.
  • for an additional amount for salaries and expenses of the house of representatives, $39,000,000, the amount designated as an emergency requirement pursuant to section 402.
  • $500,000 for the liberty little squaw creek sewer upgrade in ohio.
  • $1,000,000 for the lake county, concord township sanitary sewer line improvement in ohio.
(Choke) $39 million for the house ofreprehensibles? Excuse me? These millionaires are QUITE well funded as it is. Gee, what's the $39 million for? Tom DeLay's next hair weave and dye job? And why are we cleaning up shit in Ohio? Oh wait. Ohio cooked the election last November. Gotcha.
