A Dozen Democrats Lead to Begin Iraq Troop Pullout
The Washington Post reports that a dozen leading Democratic politicians have united to demand the start of a pull-out of troops from Iraq by the end of 2006. This after it's learned that all the Bushie talk of reducing troops in Iraq actually is met with a plan to send 5,000 additional troops over and to prevent more of the troops scheduled to go home from leaving.
I don't need a crystal ball or a call to the Psychic Friends Network to tell you that the GOP will respond by:
- insisting for the hundredth million time "we must stay the course" (even when the course takes you to the Twilight Zone by way of the Bermuda Triangle while everyone's aboard the good ship Titanic)
- using their biggest, mouthiest chickenshit chickenhawks to call the Dems who actually bothered to serve in the military "traitors" and scaredy cats
- claiming yet again that "we fight the terrorists over here so we won't have to fight them here... you know, in downtown Terre Haute, Indiana which the Department of Homeland (In)Security tells us is a big target for Al Qaeda ::cackle::
- accidentally admitting we need the troops in Iraq to stay so it won't cost so much to send them to Iran or Syria when Bush and the Neocons decide to attack there.
