Don't Let It (+ US Soldiers and Iraqis) Die: Tell Your Senator To Say Yes to Kennedy's Bill to Keep Bush in Check On Iraq

Anyone who believes that it was a grave mistake for Congress to roll over on its responsibility (so mandated by law) to provide oversight on the office of the president must, must, MUST call their senators and tell them to support the bill Senator Edward (Ted) Kennedy will introduce that will require Congressional approval of any plan Bush sets forth tonight for escalation of war in Iraq.

Quite sadly, right now, news agencies are reporting that Kennedy's bill is "unlikely to succeed".

But this isn't something we should be debating. This is the LAW now. That Congress kissed it off in 2001 and again in 2003 is NO EXCUSE for not providing a protected check on Bush now.

I've already filed my strong request with Vermont Senators Patrick Leahy (D) and Bernie Sanders (I) and - just for shits and giggles - I'm trying to reach our lone House of Rep. Peter Welch (D).
