Mind Numbing Terror Information

Strange thing is, it's not fear that makes all the stuff coming out in the last several days mind numbing: it's more like someone with an outlandish imagination is scripting it and they're not very good. Let's do a run-down (by at least a semi if not a tandem tractor trailer):

- Months of speculation about a "surprise" being planned by the GOP before the election (Osama frog marched through Madison Square Garden, an al Qaeda attack, etc.)
- We hear they're considering rescheduling Election 2004
- Former NSA director Sandy Berger accused of great crimes against the state on the eve of the Dem convention
- The "experts" tell us the media will be the specific targets of the Dem convention
- Relatively little coverage of the Dem convention except for Teresa Heinz Kerry telling a questionable edit page writer to "Shove it"
- Dem Convention ends and immediately, we're in bright orange alert with specific targets like we've never had before - all commercial
- We're told bright orange could last until the GOP Convention
- The Bush Girl Dolts Twins are trotted out to have coffee with bigwigs in NYC's financial district the morning after we hear of the danger
- We hear the information is 3-4 years old and probably has not been updated since 9-11-01 when much (at least in theory and contracts) changed
- Tom Ridge trots out to say that "So what that the information is 3-4 years old!"
- Then we're told the bright orange will last at least through Election 2004 (heh)
- Discussion among the media that maybe they'll have to step up their coverage of the GOP convention because, you know, there's such a threat
- Details come out that a big attack is planned about 60 days before the election; 60 days brings us to September 4th, the day AFTER Bush accepts nomination, so say it's 61 days...

You can't make this stuff up. Or... I don't know... perhaps someone can.
