Keyes vs. Obama?

From Washington Post:

Illinois Republican leaders asked Alan Keyes, an East Coast conservative and Maryland resident who says out-of-state candidates aren't a good idea on principle, to be their U.S. Senate candidate Wednesday. But like a string of previous potential candidates, Keyes said he needed a few days to think about it.
Yes, gentle readers, this is the same Alan Keyes who couldn't get noticed in the presidential race in 2000, the one who couldn't keep his job on MSNBC (which is craven for low viewer numbers and to be seen as Faux), and who doesn't have much well... charisma.

And he's the same Keyes who bellyached wildly when Hillary moved to NY to run for the Senate. In this case, Keyes hasn't even moved to the state he's going to (in theory) represent.

Desperation isn't the word here.
