Color Me Disgusted
Over the years, just like many Americans I'm sure, I've been annoyed and even downright upset when our nation's leaders have not lived up to their awesome responsibilities. But I have never been so thoroughly disgusted as I was today upon seeing the broadcast of Mr. Bush, stuffing his face and talking with his mouth full as he denigrated Kofi Annan to Tony Blair (and Blair recently won the disrespect of Britain as the sleaziest politician they know), not noticing the microphone next to him.
Bush looked very much like fat brother Jeb, but he also seemed like every other cocksure miserable man who, certain of his own privilege and status, he ate his fancy food and complained that others were not doing their jobs. Bush has destabilized the entire world, yet he blames the UN for not doing his bidding. He's mad because the rest of the world won't do what he wants them to do, and he's ready to make them pay for that dishonor.
Bush couldn't care less about the more than 200 civilians who have died in the Israel-Lebanon-Hezbollah strife in the last five days. All he cares about is that it inconveniences him. He'd rather be napping and stuffing his face, slapping himself on the back for a job well done, but these people are getting in his way.
No, I have never been so thoroughly disgusted with a politician or another human being in my life as I was today. What a grave error that this man has ever been allowed even in the shadow of a seat of power.
I don't want Bush merely removed from office. I want him impeached. I want him to go through the same illegal, inhumane processes he has crafted to administer to others. I want him to spend the remainder of his life in a place like Guantanamo Bay, suffering every indignity and injustice he has so gladly bestowed on others.
And I hate that I feel that way, because it makes me little better than this miserable, foolish, vain glorious, soulless man.
