Death Toll Rises in Israel-Lebanon-Hezbollah Disaster

Currently, we're at more than 300 dead in Lebanon, 29 dead in Israel.

But it's OK because Mr. Bush says "let's wait a few weeks and see what shakes out." Then he'll send in Secretary of Stiff, Condi Rice, to make matters worse and, knowing them, decide to annex part of Lebanon to give to Israel. We aren't supposed to notice or remember that part of the reason Hezbollah has such a stronghold in Lebanon is that until 2000, Israel occupied Southern Lebanon, taking what was not theirs to hold.

No, I can't imagine why Muslims think the Imperial West is waging a crusade against them.

Oh, yeah, and for the far right extremists who say the only good Muslim is a dead Muslim? Many Lebanese are Christians. But I guess that's okay, too, because they aren't Baptist or other fundamentalist Christians, so they don't count. Right?
