On Colonel David Hackworth's Death

A reader noted sadly last week both that Hack - a courageous warrior long after he hung up his gun - had died and that so few had mentioned it.

But in browsing the blogosphere - and unique among "thinking" sites - I've seen numerous mentions of Hack and appreciation for all he did. Hack deserved our praise before and he certainly earns it now. He's not the only brave warrior concerned more with truth than appearances, but we will sorely miss his unique contributions, both to the plight of the everyday soldier as well as to society as a whole.
