The Question Isn't Whether We Are Nazis But Why We Are Not Different Enough From Nazis

Armando at Daily Kos points out a diary talking about the great anger unleashed by the GOP against Dick Durbin's comments that we were behaving like Nazis at Gitmo. Indeed, Newt (quite the moral authority don't you know) Gingrich has called for Durbin to be censured.

In fact, one wonders - if the GOP is so concerned that remarks about Gitmo will indeed "get our troops killed" - why oh why does the GOP keep raising them again and again and again when they would have otherwise faded into obscurity.

A quote gets raised here that is an important one: that the question is NOT whether we are like Nazis but why we aren't far more different in behaviors than Nazis. That is the question. Note the piece I posted last night about the veteran soldier who - when asked to pretend to be a detainee at Gitmo - was beaten so severely he has sustained permanent brain damage.

And do you know what the great noble GOP right is doing in light of what we know about Gitmo? Well, Powerline the idiot blog is selling "we're proud of Gitmo" wear like "What Goes on in Gitmo Stays in Gitmo."
