More Diversion: John Mark Karr and the JonBenet Ramsey Murder Case

Did you happen to hear that Karr, the fellow who claims (sort of sideways) that he "accidentally" killed the six-year-old "beauty" queen JonBenet Ramsey after he drugged and raped her (which pathology reports say did not happen) is back in the U.S. awaiting extradition to Colorado?

In a bizarre twist to this case, some doctor announced he was involved in treating Karr. What's interesting is that this doctor specializes in transgender operations, meaning taking (in this case) a man and changing him into a her.

Normally, I would pay little if any attention to this, but this story is just so bizarro. A lot of what Karr has supposedly said do not match the facts as known. The college professor who Karr supposedly confessed to just happens to have a new book on the case being released now, which doesn't exactly pass the smell test.

One thing I do note - because I haven't had much use for these people otherwise - is that the Ramsey family, including Patsy's own, are quick to say no one should just assume this man is guilty. It's very possible this man is only guilty of being a real nutjob, and may perceive of himself (just watch his manner of movement, his clothing) as really someone about the age of JonBenet when she was killed.

I've heard there was also child pornography found on his computer or among his possesions. If true, that's really bad. But I think this man may actually be looney tunes enough that this is a case of legitimate psychiatric illness rather than just some guy who gets his sick kicks off child porn. I see a distinction there, although I realize some might argue the point.
