CNN and Other Mainstream Media Buys Bush Crock of

Listening to Wolf Blitzer and John Roberts on CNN today as well as in reading MSM sites today, I'm baffled by this phenomenon: all said it seemed at the start of this past week that the Bushies were slow to respond to the crisis caused by the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah that was mostly killing the civilians of Lebanon. Now, however, all agree they were wrong to believe the Bushies weren't "actively involved". They report it as fact.

Why did they change their minds? Because the Bushies told them they were wrong.

But where is the evidence the Bush Administration IS involved?

  • That the president was more interested in a boar/pig barbecue at the G8 summit than discuss the issue?
  • Or that he rushed back from the G8 not to try to broker a cease-fire but to host the top 10 "American Idol" candidates?
  • In rushing more precision-guided missiles to Israel?
  • In waiting 10 days to send Condi Rice to the region when she says she won't do much of anything?
  • In having Congress announce that Israel is justified in doing anything it wants - that the civilian Lebanese deaths are "a shame" but wiping out Hezbollah is too important to let hundreds of unnecessary deaths get in the way?
Hey, Mainstream Media: the president can say anything he wants. But you should demand more proof than a press release before you treat as FACT that they're working hard on the matter. Right now, the evidence proves nothing but the exact opposite.
