And Were All 37 Children Killed in the Attack in Qana, Lebanon Hezbollah Chiefs?
This is an unqualified disaster in the world beyond the obvious humanitarian crisis in Lebanon itself. Yes, there have been deaths in Israel as well, but on a scale far smaller than in Lebanon because even when Hezbollah shoots rockets, they have nowhere near the killing power of the America-made arms we supply (often free of charge, as "aid") to Israel.
More than 50 people dead, 37 of them children, in the Israeli air strike on Qana, Lebanon even as Israel officials sat with Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice to discuss a truce or cease-fire, even as Israel says it is doing everything possible to minimize civilian deaths. Right.
From WaPo:
At least 37 children are among the dead after the single bloodiest airstrike in 19 days of violence; attacks force Rice to abandon trip to Beirut. Also, here's WaPo's "US Stance Threatens Diplomacy Efforts" and "Many Arabs Applaud Hezbollah".
Rather than wiping out Hezbollah, Israel has not only made themselves far more hated in the world (unfortunate since I do not see Israelis themselves as the blood-thirsty aggressors that their leaders often are), but they have pushed a situation into one in which Arabs and Muslims feel obligated to side with terror organizations like Hezbollah and Hamas. And the U.S. constantly protecting Israel from any hint of criticism only worsens the situation exponentially.
