More on the Carnage a Trois of Lebanon, Hezbollah, Israel

Somewhere along the way in the last few weeks, I found myself referring in my own head to the Israel-Hezbollah-Lebanon debacle as a carnage a trois (a sad take-off on a three-way affair). However, up til now, I've made myself not refer to it as such here. Guess I'm now breaking my own rule.

Anywhere, here's a roundup of some stories on the crisis:

  • Conflict rages with no apparent end in sight.
  • BBC reports that the situation with Israelis going after Palestinians in Gaza is just as bad as what is happening in Lebanon, with more than 140 people dead in the last month, aid not getting in, no food, power off in most places for a month-plus, and other ingredients for a humanitarian crisis.
  • Those who have been detained by Israeli forces are claiming that Israel is perpetrating terrible abuses upon these detainees.
  • Did you know that when the Israelis took out a power station they caused an oil slick every bit as bad, if not worse, than the Exxon Valdez when it ran aground in Alaska? The UN is calling for action to try to get it cleaned up amidst the conflict.
  • Shockwaves from Lebanon and a Lesson from Qana Massacre.
  • Blogworld explodes over the carnage a trois.
