In the "Glenn Reynolds, InstaAss, Doesn't Deserve His Own Department" Department
I happened to catch the ::cough:: good professor’s appearance on the late edition of the Reagan/Crowley show on MSNBC today where Glenn, as always, just amazed us with his smarts.
First, he informed us that Jeff Jarvis is a liberal. I’m glad he told us this because I’ve been unsure exactly what Jeff is. But Glenn’s problem – besides the fact that he spends more time on his hair than his logic – with Jarvis is that the latter dares to refer to “Christian theocrats” on his Buzz Machine blog with regard to Schiavo. Glenn (as he seems naturally wont to do – so wont, in fact, I keep expecting Glenn to come up on one of those “paid punditry” White House lists) says calling the situation an emerging Christian theocracy in America is wrong because – my goodness – you have to look to Zimbabwe or someplace as an indication of bad theocracy.
Well, Glenn, you know, some of us don’t set American standards on Zimbabwe. Some of us might feel that a country like Zimbabwe would be more vulnerable to this than America should be. Thus, as usual, you’ve opened your mouth and given us a great view of your ass.
Second, Glenn told us of some “good” news. This great news is that while it’s hard for the military to get people to join, the “retention” rate is GREAT (I’m sure this has nothing to do with the fact that Rumsfeld won’t LET THEM LEAVE under Stop-Loss and other measures designed to hold service people prisoner). But Glenn had more wonder to share: that those returning from Iraq do so with a much “sunnier” outlook. Huh?
And no, I do not link to InstaPukeIt.
