What, If Any, Big Surprises Did This Last Week Deliver For You?
[Ed. note: Sorry for not posting much at all yesterday; Blogger has been a real pain in the ass er.. ASCII since a couple of days before Tuesday mid-term vote.]
Fess up! Were you surprised by:
- Rumsfeld's dismissal (dismissal probably is truer than resignation)?
- Charges being sought in Germany against the Secretary of
the IndefensibleDefense - as well as Attorney General Gonzales and others for war crimes? - How Iraq reacted to Rumsfeld's "desire to spend more time with my family"?
- the Bushies sudden claiming al Qaeda was going to attack the White House? (Considering how the Bushies have attacked 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, what greater damage could the Osama bin Laden crew do?)
- Having U.N. bully John Bolton tossed up again for appointment as ambassador?
- Bush's (probably unintentional) admission of a lie regarding Rumsfeld's future with the Bushies?
- Ned Lamont's defeat in Connecticut? (Of course, if you paid attention to the huge money the Republican National Committee (RNC) poured into the nutmeg state, you probably shouldn't have been too startled.)
- McCain's rocket-fast announcement he's running for president in 2008?
How the media has largely ignored stories of huge voting irregularities, as if the fact that Dems largely carried the wins means all voting was fair and accurate?
So what am I missing from this list?
