I wonder, if the country re-instated the draft–would so many Republicans (or any politician) be willing to throw this country into war? And, after going to war, how many of them would then tell us to just stay the course when their kids and their voters’ children were actually in the line of fire? It’s just a thought I had. When Charlie Rangel first proposed this idea a couple of years ago, I - who have always been opposed to the military draft in any way, shape, or form - actually wondered if perhaps the time had come. But a draft that would NOT immediately let every politician's, rich joe's, and VIP's son and daughter (because I do not see how a draft in this millennium could NOT include women) off the hook.
