Supreme Court Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy on the First Amendment

The wonderful Maryscott O'Connor at My Left Wing, in commemorating the associate justice's 70th birthday today, shares this quote from Kennedy I found myself reading again and again:
"The First Amendment is often inconvenient. But that is beside the point. Inconvenience does not absolve the government of its obligation to tolerate speech."

TYVM Maryscott!

This is one to jot down, to reread, and to cite to others, IMHO.
