The Ostroy Report tackles the subject mentioned often on weekend talking head political shows: does the situation with Israel bombing Hezbollah and everyone else in Lebanon and Hezbollah raining fire on northern communities of Israel make the U.S. more susceptible to attack by our enemies.
Personally, I'm not too worried. Well, I'm worried, true, but I'm more concerned that the timing of the Israel-Hezbollah conflict and the U.S. reaction to it is enormously fortuitous for the GOP in terms of mid-term elections (remember Newt Gingrich telling us calling the war World War III would be great mid-term election marketing language for the GOP), which makes the Dems fall all over themselves to rah-rah-sis-boom-bah Israel even more loudly than the Reps.
I'm just old enough to notice that almost everything that benefits a politician will screw the rest of us over royally.
